LUCA SANTESE
Photography

Luca Santese was born in Monza in 1985 and, as a photographer, he was born and raised in the Milan area. He studied at the National High School of Art of Monza and the Brera Academy of Fine Arts of Milan. During his Academy years, he worked in the printing laboratory of photographer Alex Majoli and in 2008, together with Arianna Arcara, Luca Baioni, Gabriele Milcalizzi, Andy Rocchelli and Alessandro Sala, founded CESURA. 
CESURA is a group of photographers whose common desire is that of creating an independent force capable of carrying out high-quality research in the field of photography, from taking a picture to printing it and from postproduction to the setting up of exhibitions.

In 2009, Luca Santese was selected by "Photolucida Critical Mass" as a new talent in European photography.
In 2010, his project "Detroit 2009-2010" was selected by the "World Press Photo" award and, in the same year, his project "Found Photos in Detroit" was exhibited for the first time at Le Bal Space of Paris, then at Kulturhuset (Stockholm), OGR (Turin), MoCP (Chicago) and in many other locations all over the world. CESURA is a group of photographers whose common desire is that of creating an independent force capable of carrying out high-quality research in the field of photography, from taking a picture to printing it and from postproduction to the setting up of exhibitions.
In 2011, Luca and Arianna Arcara published the book "Found Photos in Detroit", which was nominated seven times as best photobook of the year and was recently selected by Martin Parr and Gerry Badger for the series entitled: Photobook: A History Vol III, a collection of the 200 best photobooks published after World War II. 
His works were published and exhibited in Europe, Russia, Asia and the United States.
